One of the biggest challenges of living on a cruise ship is making a small, standard cabin feel like home. For us, Chris and Michael from Charting Our Course, personalizing our space has been key to our happiness and well-being. We are excited to share one of our favorite solutions, and we made it ourselves: magnetic wall art!
According to a study by H2HHC, personalizing a living space has a significant impact on emotional health, fostering feelings of independence, empowerment, and self-worth. This is especially true when you’re living in a compact environment for an extended period. Adding personal touches like photos and mementos can make your cabin a true sanctuary.
We designed a collection of magnetic wall art, available on Zazzle, specifically for cruise cabins. As we featured on our DC Hidden Gems YouTube Channel, these magnets allow you to display your favorite travel photos without damaging the cabin walls. The walls of most cruise ship cabins are metal, making them perfect for magnetic decorations.
How does it work?
It's simple! You can upload your own photos to create custom magnets. We’ve decorated our cabin with memories from our travels, like our trip to Egypt, which you can see in our video at [09:40].
What are the benefits of magnetic wall art?
Most cruise lines, including Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Disney, allow door and cabin decorations as long as they are made from fire-retardant materials and don’t damage the surfaces. Adhesives are a big no-no, which is why magnets are the perfect solution. Always check your specific cruise line’s policy before decorating.
