WHY We Bought a Cabin on a Cruise Ship!

Picture this: you’re sitting on your balcony, coffee in hand, watching the world literally float by. This has been our dream, and for a while, we thought we had it figured out with a mix of early retirement and slow travel. But a few things started to get under our skin. The endless packing and unpacking, the feeling of being a temporary guest everywhere we went, and don’t even get us started on the ever-increasing cleaning fees and inconsistent quality of some of our stays! We love to travel, but we were craving a bit more stability and a space to truly call our own.

We’ve always been ones to march to the beat of our own drum, so when we heard about the Villa Vie Odyssey, a residential cruise ship, a little spark went off. Could this be it? A way to see the world without the constant hassle? We crunched the numbers, and the idea of a fixed monthly cost for lodging, food, and even entertainment for the next 15 years was a game-changer. It’s like we’ve inflation-proofed our future adventures!

So, we did it. We bought a cabin on the Villa Vie Odyssey! It’s our own little slice of paradise that will take us to all the corners of the globe, from the big-name cities to the hidden gems you can only get to by sea. We’re so excited to have a community of like-minded people on board, to have our own things with us, and to finally ditch those pesky cleaning fees for good! It’s a bold move, and we know there might be a few bumps along the way as pioneers in this new way of living, but we’re ready for the adventure of a lifetime.
