Storylines is a company undertaking the ambitious project of constructing a new residential ship, the MV Narrative, envisioned as a large, self-contained global community at sea. The company's concept is centered around a comprehensive "live, work, and play" environment designed for a diverse, multi-generational community of residents. The core mission is to provide a fully immersive lifestyle of continuous travel, supported by extensive onboard amenities and services.
The development of the MV Narrative has been a lengthy process with significant timeline revisions. After exploring various options, Storylines entered into a shipbuilding contract with the Brodosplit shipyard in Croatia for the vessel's construction. The custom-built design includes a wide array of unique amenities, such as a waterfront marina at the stern, a hydroponic garden, and its own microbrewery. With a projected launch now anticipated for 2027, the ship’s proposed itinerary is a slow-paced circumnavigation of the globe, allowing for extended stays in port for deep cultural immersion.
The financial model requires the outright purchase of a residence, representing a significant investment. A variety of floor plans are available, from studios to multi-room apartments, with residents able to customize their homes. In addition to the purchase price, comprehensive ongoing fees will cover the ship's services, dining, and operations. The lifestyle Storylines aims to create is one of active participation, with programs focused on education, sustainability, and resident-led initiatives, all contributing to a vibrant and engaged community upon its eventual launch.
Blue World
Blue World is a conceptual residential cruise line founded on a unique and highly focused mission: to create the world's first community at sea entirely dedicated to sports, wellness, and active living. The company's vision is to attract a specific demographic of health-conscious residents who want to integrate their active lifestyle with continuous global travel. Instead of being a general-purpose residential ship, the entire vessel and its programming are designed from the ground up to be a floating sports and spa complex.
The proposed ship is envisioned as a sanctuary for health and fitness, with plans for amenities that far exceed those on any other cruise ship. These include a full sports deck with facilities for various activities, an expansive spa and wellness center, a sports medicine clinic, multiple pools including a seawater lap pool, and healthy dining venues. The project has been in a dedicated planning and development phase for a number of years as it works to secure the necessary financing and a suitable vessel to bring its distinct and ambitious vision to the market.
